Whether it’s a honeymoon, or a specially planned romantic getaway, Asia has some of the best romantic destinations to be found anywhere. Simply take a look at the following list and see what these amazing islands have to offer. Beautiful scenery, amazing things to see and do, and of course plenty of sun and sand. Asia serves up her islands like jewels on display in the finest jewellery store. Here are some of her best.

Boracay Island, Philippines

Head over to the Philippines and experience what is known as the Pearl of the Orient. This island consistently makes top 10 lists year after year and for good reason. Of course, its white sand beach is perfect, but Boracay is so much more than that. If you are the adventurous sort, then spend some time snorkeling or scuba diving. The island even offers parasailing and windsurfing on Bulabog Beach. End the day riding horses at sunset across the island, or by getting off shore a bit with a paraw. You can rent these sailboats on the beach nearby, then come back and enjoy the beach at sunset with a nice picnic. Boracay is stunning with so much to offer.

Phuket, Thailand

While Boracay is known as the Pearl of the Orient, Phuket is known as the Pearl of the South. There are a wide range of activities to enjoy depending on what type of couple you are. For instance, if you like boisterous loud nights, head over to Patong Beach. There are plenty of people and fun to be found there. If a quieter environment is what you prefer then Karon Beach is your destination. This is about as laid-back as it gets, and the surrounding scenery is stunning too. Beyond that, there are similar beaches like Kata, Kamala, Nai Yang, and Bang Tao. There are also several markets in town that offer up unique souvenirs. In town you can also rent cars or scooters if you would like to have alternate methods of transportation while you are visiting.

Bali, Indonesia

This list would not be complete if we did not include Bali. Known as the Island of the Gods, its extravagantly clear blue waters, beaches of white sand and black sand, beautiful landscapes, tropical environments, and ancient temples make for some of the most spectacular scenery on earth. In addition to the surreal environment, there are many other activities to enjoy as well ranging from cycling and snorkeling, to guided walks through the rain forest and temples found on the island. While you are there, make sure you visit the SOS Supper Club, as well as Luna Bar Restaurant and Sky Lounge. These establishments have great food and drinks, and were also the feature in Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts.

Siem Reap, Cambodia

This little gem in Cambodia is home to Angkor Wat, yet there’s so much more to this area than just the beautiful temples. There are monks to be found as well. A visit will have you catch a glimpse of hundreds of monks, clad in their orange robes. They create a striking contrast from the dull grey walls of the temple. There’s a certain type of serenity to be found therein. However, other attractions like the Butterfly Centre, the National Museum, and the Silver Pagoda all await you as well. In addition, a visit to the Royal Palace and Bird Sanctuary are must see must do items during your stay. Very romantic, and ancient, the great gate to Angkor is a couples paradise.

Siem Reap - Asia

Nicknamed the Necklace Island, the Maldives offers couples a serene expanse of beaches and spectacular ocean views. The waters are perfect for scuba diving, with some of the best coral reefs in the world. More than 1000 unique species of fish and various other marine life are teaming below the surface, waiting for you to explore. Beyond that, take your time to take in all of the natural scenery. With an elevation of only 8 feet above sea level, you are sure to see everything from miles around.

A trip to any one of these will create many romantic memories. There is a reason Asia has been featured in so many movies as a tropical lover’s destination. From old classics such as “South Pacific”, to modern films mentioned earlier, these particular islands have been wooing lovers for centuries now. Spend some time on any one of these islands and experience why. The plush resorts, beautiful beaches, lively nightlife, and exhilarating excursions offer a range of experiences to suit any taste or pace. From outgoing to intimate, you can find it in one of these destinations. Of course, no matter which island you choose for your romantic getaway, you have to do two very important things… the sun rise, and set, with an umbrella drink in hand.

The romantic atmosphere is free of charge.
